BEIRUT, Augnolimitholdem. 8 (Xinhua) -- A member of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah was killed and three others injured on Thursday in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.
The military sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Hassan Atef al-Sayyed was killed by two missiles targeting his residence in the border village of Aitaroun.
In a separate incident, an Israeli drone fired two air-to-ground missiles at a car on the road linking the Lebanese villages of al-Jibbine and Yarine, injuring three Hezbollah members, the sources said.
Tensions are high in Lebanon following Israel's killing of a senior Hezbollah military commander Fouad Shokor last week. Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has threatened retaliation.■
